We have just finished building our 3000 square foot, dream home and would love to share it with you when we are stuck on the mainland!

Each of the six bedrooms has its own private bath, plus one extra for the pool crowd. The first master suite has a Cal King bed, slate bathroom, and jacuzzi tub. The second master suite has a Queen bed and shower bathroom, also done in slate. The other four bedrooms have two twin beds each, with a total sleeping capacity for 12.

The upstairs has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, and living room. The gourmet kitchen has stainless steel oven, microwave, dishwasher, and side by side refrigerator, with ice maker. Air conditioning keeps the upstairs cool and inviting. The kitchen is fully stocked to accommodate 12 people and any holiday celebration that is enjoyed here. The living room has three couches, a 36 inch TV, VCR, DVD, and several selections of both DVDs and videos for your enjoyment. The dining room table seats ten to twelve people.

A 1,000 square foot verandah wraps-around the entire top floor, with gorgeous views. The front overlooks Makaha and the ocean and sunsets are enjoyed here year round. The left and right side verandahs enjoy the two beautiful mountains of Makaha Valley and the back holds a bird's eye view of the Makaha Valley Resort and Golf Club. Outside seating makes enjoying the breathtaking views easy. A gas grill is located just steps from the kitchen.

Downstairs, there are three more bedrooms and four bathrooms. The downstairs living room has an eight person couch, TV and DVD player, as well as a kitchenette and table with four chairs. A screen porch leads you to the stone deck and 600 square foot pool. The pool is tiled in cobalt blue and has a light for night swimming as well. Lounge chairs and a hammock keeps the non-swimmer close by for conversation. The house sits on one acre of country land and stone walls and fences keep the estate private.

This area is home to many locals and a well-kept secret from the typical tourist. The beaches are empty and pristine and the grocery, gas, and clothing prices here are lower than anywhere else. It is 6 blocks from the beach, up on a slight hill with beautiful views in all directions. The house is situated in a perfect spot for year round sunsets and the privacy of a country acre. A quick 5 minute drive will get you to the beach, grocery store, drug store, golf course, shave ice stand, gas station or fast food.

If you want a quiet vacation, where your biggest decision is "pool or beach?", this is the place. We chose this side of the island because it is so different than the big city, yet within 45 minutes of most tourist sites. So, travel back in time and hang loose! You'll never want to leave!
